Broadband - In 20 words or less...

can you tell me who provides your broadband, why you chose them, if you're happy and, if not, who would you move to.
My brother and family are wanting advice and I thought I get input from the best.

Thanks

  • I'm with blueyonder tv/phone/broadband bundle. I'm waiting for land line portability to come (never?) and then I'll just have broadban with VOIP.

Blue yonder has a fixed IP, is fast (reliably 300K ) and no metered usage

  • I'm with Demon. Changed to them from BT back in November after many years of threatening to move away from BT due to the high cost.

Living in a more rural area, I'm stuck with a maximum of 2M download and 256K upload.

I chose Demon because I was after an unmetered service for the best price, afer upsetting BT a few times by going over their download cap.

2M unmetered for £19.99 a month seemed like a good deal. Their customer service has also been amazingly polite and helpful when I needed to speak to them when setting up broadband for my parents.

  • I have 2Mbps broadband from NTL - purely because I have telly and phone with them. Nice thing is that there's no contention ratio whatsoever.. Not sure of the price as I blagged leaving them so they made my bundle cheaper overall..

Tip - it's ALWAYS worth a blag ;) Cable companies and mobile phone carriers are especially easy..
