My Favourite RSS Reader by far

Yes...I know it costs, but I've never regretted buying it.

Cool list of custom Google searches for finding stuff on Rapidshare

Thought I'd try resurrecting this thing...

Playing around with Windows Live Writer, which seems pretty good. Using it to post this in fact. Nice small app, integrates with (from what I can tell) most blog types and obviously Microsoft's Live Spaces. Supports plugins too, which is always a good thing!

Blogger doesn't allow posting of images, but you can host them on your own site.

Probably not as good as Performancing for Firefox, but it's worth a play.

You can download it from here.

Broadband - In 20 words or less...

can you tell me who provides your broadband, why you chose them, if you're happy and, if not, who would you move to.
My brother and family are wanting advice and I thought I get input from the best.

Thanks

Hardware advice needed for 73 year old mum

The tipping point had been reached - my mum wants to get broadband.

She's nearly had a nervous breakdown trying to install BT broadband with a Sony viao 505. It's a long story, but (day 1)it wouldn't connect via an extension , (day 2)it has a non standard Ethernet connection and (day 3)the login details where wrong . Day 4 she decided she needed a new laptop or desktop.

I've said go wireless, so can anyone recommend a laptop for browsing and email, with a screen suitable for an OAP (no stupidly high pitch) which has built in wireless. It's taken her a few years to get used to windows XP, so no Macs allowed.

Also, any ideas on fax printer would be gratefully received. Are these wireless yet?

Not much left of 2005

Come on guys, let's get collaborative about those drool worthy stocking fillers. Let's face it, an xbox just isn't going to fit? Will your loved one really be up to getting the video ipodupgrade? No! Let your fantasy go overdrive with this - an out there design book full of impossibly sleak noodle ware, including a mac 5 passenger plane! Colani

Or, for the financially challenged, some stupidly hip Start mobile desktop art for your phone

We all know tele is crap, so how about the groovetube? "The Groovetube is simply a translucent plastic box that suction cups to the screen of your television. It has a grid of dividers inside it that diffuse the colors from your T.V. producing an amazing colorful abstraction of anything you watch." Groovetube

Finally, if you're all banding together to get me a stocking filler, then please make it sleeptracker "Waking up has never been easier. Say goodbye to blurry mornings - wake up alert and energetic everyday with SLEEPTRACKER®" This could change my life in 2006

Hoping you all you a great Christmas, drop me a line if there is any free drinking I can gate crash....
