A decent phone to go with a PDA

Im looking for a phone to go along with the imminent PDA purchase. I had a T-Mobile MDA Compact and whilst it was working it was all well and good apart from being a PIG to sync with Linux. The battery life is appaling also. Ive come to the conclusion that all that I really need in a phone is Bluetooth and a small size with decent menus. The rest is just fluff. Now I know some of you have some Sony phones at the moment but have you ever had one of these...

Ericsson T39m

Its quite old school but its cheap and ticks all the boxes. Also the fact that it has a greenscale screen will make the battery last about 10 times longer.

Im moving away from the convergence of PDA and phone. Its fundamentally flawed in the fact that when people are telling you stuff over the phone you cant take notes too easily. Also, when youre out in t' disco and there is a big bulge in your pocket... well, that one could go either way :) However, having a phone that plays a huge load of mp3's is nice and practical in the fact that the player knows when to pause and when to resume.

Ohh, its all so confusing. My budget for the phone is going to be a measly £50 and for the PDA about £150.

  • My first phone was an Ericsson...not as funky as that one though.

Agree with you on the phone/PDA convergence thing though...I get really fed up with the size of my P800.

More thoughts when I've had some sleep...maybe!
